Hope in a dark place

Hala* is a little Sudanese girl who has been unable to walk since she was one year old. She needed a back surgery, which would have been risky and unaffordable to be done in Sudan. When the war broke out mid-April, Hala’s family fled to Egypt. Her parents took her to see a doctor who confirmed the need for the surgery. Without income or insurance, it was impossible for the family to afford the operation. They approached AWEMA’s partner church for assistance. Through the help of AWEMA’s generous partners, we were able to contribute financially towards the cost of the surgery. The operation was successful and Hala’s condition has greatly improved. She began her recovery journey of medication and physical therapy, in which we still contribute financially.

We have a mighty God who gives light in the midst of darkness. And we are thankful that He uses us.
