Maturity through Discipleship in a Foreign Land

Mansour* is a 25-year-old man who grew up in a Christian family. Despite attending church regularly, he admits that his faith was in name only. Recently, after joining our discipleship group, the Lord began to change him.

He says, “I realized I have a duty to share Christ with my non-Christian friends – something I had never considered before! Yet I recognize that this responsibility starts with my own personal transformation. I had been living a double life, but now I am learning to know God’s will and follow His plan for my life.” Mansour is sharing what he is learning with others and has taken on leadership responsibilities in ministry. He has grown in his walk with Christ, and his friends testify to the change they see in his life. Please pray for him as he continues this journey of transformation, as struggles and opposition are inevitable.

In the same group is Samar*, a 24-year-old woman, who fled from Sudan with her husband and their three children after the war broke out. The hardships of life caused her to drift away from her faith, but when she joined our discipleship group, she was amazed to find the lessons directly addressing her needs. She shared, “I learned to trust God in everything. I had given in to the stress and demands of life and neglected my relationship with God. But through the discipleship class, I learned how to manage my time well, have an intimate relationship with the Lord and with my family, and be patient with others.” Samar and her family now pray together regularly. Her friends say that she changed in several ways, including having become more self-confident.

God is weaving a beautiful tapestry even through the suffering and chaos caused by the Sudan war. You can be part of this great work through your prayers and donations.
