Transforming Grace

Jihan and her husband Nadi* live with their two children in an underserved area where the AWEMA church planting team works. For years, Jihan has been actively involved in a discipleship group at her mother’s house and in weekly women’s meetings. Despite being illiterate, she listens closely to the teaching, loves God’s word, and prays with simple, sincere faith.

After moving into an apartment in her family’s house at her mother’s invitation, conflicts arose between Nadi and Jihan’s brother. Trusting the Lord, Jihan prayed for a resolution. Her prayers were answered, and with help from her family and our ministry, they purchased another apartment. When her mother stopped hosting the discipleship group due to opposition, Jihan began hosting it in her new home, inviting three other families, along with her mother and sister. And being a true follower of Jesus, she forgave her family’s past wrongs.

Nadi had not been a believer. However, during the first conference we held for families in their district, God touched his heart. At the end of the conference, when participants were invited to share how the Lord had met them, Nadi came forward. He didn’t face the attendees, but knelt before the wooden cross on stage, praying and confessing his unworthiness of God’s love, grace, and forgiveness.

Later, Jihan shared her husband’s conversion with the discipleship group. At his request, we provided him with a Bible, and we’re already witnessing the fruit of his newfound faith.
